There’s so much that goes into the design and build of a custom home. The decisions seem endless and the pressure can feel completely overwhelming.
With more than 20 years experience as a custom home designer, I can help guide you through the design dilemmas that you are facing. During our time together I will answer your questions, provide solutions, all while explaining the reasoning behind them. That way you have a better understanding of the why’s and why-nots of good design and can move forward with confidence.

The Details
One-hour intensive video conferencing session where you’ll ask questions and I’ll provide the answers. Based on my education, experience and skill, I’ll help you overcome the design challenges that you’re facing. I can provide answers to any of your design quandaries, from floor plan concerns, to interior and exterior colors and finish material selections, and everything in-between. This is a stand-alone service, but one that can be benefitted from and repeated at almost any stage of the design process. You can even book back-to-back sessions for a more in-depth two-hour intensive.

I know firsthand how demanding design projects are and the stress that comes from needing to provide information to builders and subcontractors, especially when you are doubting yourself, and are feeling paralyzed with uncertainty.
Together, we’ll walk through the challenges you’re facing - from finish materials and transitions, fixture selections, cabinet and fireplace designs, ceiling details, floor plan concerns, and anything in between. I’ll provide clear, and sound feedback that will help you get unstuck and move forward with peace-of-mind.

Who is the services for?
Anyone who needs extra help and guidance with their interior design projects. This includes design clients, interior designers, architects and builders.
When is the ideal time to book a consultation?
The consultations can be done at any stage of the design process, and can be repeated as needed. You can even book back-to-back sessions for a more in-depth two-hour intensive.
Do I need to bring a list of questions to guide our consultation?
Absolutely, that way we are sure to cover your concerns. From there, I’ll provide actionable, tailored advice, specific to your project.
Will I be able to share my screen with you to show plans, drawings, concept photos, etc.?
Yes. That way you can show me exactly what your concerns are. Prior to our time together, collect all the images you want to share and have them at hand, so we can use our time together efficiently.
Can I bring a guest to the floor plan review and consultation?
Sure. It’s your time, You’re welcome to invite a trusted someone to join you. You’ll just want to make sure that no matter who’s there that you’ll still be able to focus.
Is it OK if I record the meeting so I can refer to it later?
Yes. We’ll be covering a lot of ground. Recording our time together will allow you to listen with more ease and without the pressure of taking notes.
What is the difference between a Design Consultation and Floor Plan Review and Consultation?
The Design Consultations are for any, and all design questions, including feedback about floor plans. We can cover any design topics you would like during the one-hour consultation.
The Floor Plan Review and Consultations is much more involved, and focuses primarily on the floor plan design. Prior to the appointment, I thoroughly evaluate the submitted floor plans and then present feedback and specific solutions during our scheduled time together. The objective of the service is to flush out any troublesome areas on the floor plans before they become a problem on the construction site.
Can I book a Design Consultation as a follow-up to a Floor Plan Review?
Absolutely! The Design Consultations can provide the perfect follow-up to a Floor Plan Review. That way we can go over the changes that were recommended, catch any other areas that need refinement, before the floor plans are finalized, and answer any questions that have come up.
What can I do if I don’t see a time slot available that works with my schedule?
Though the time slots fill up quickly, new appointments are continually being added. If there isn’t anything listed that will work for you, feel free to email tami@tamifaulknerdesign to arrange a different time to meet.
What are your cancellation and rescheduling policies?
The consultation fee is a one-time, non-refundable payment for each one-hour session. If you are not able to make our meeting, you may reschedule up to 72 hours in advance for a $100.00 rebooking fee.
What happens if I'm not satisfied with my consultation?
I have the education, experience, and skill to advise you. I can’t however guarantee that you will be satisfied with the advice you receive, nor can I take responsibility for how you proceed with that information. It will be up to you to see how best to implement the suggestions. No refunds will be given.
